Leadership Mentoring

Few leaders like to admit they need support, but life at the top can be lonely. People may see those in charge as strong and single-minded. But at times, all of us find it hard to see the wood for the trees. I believe people function best when they are collaborating successfully with others. And to do this well you need to be on an even keel. You need to feel confident enough to listen to others and to contribute. As well as strategic direction, you may also need new skills.

Job roles and hierarchies can dictate how people behave towards you. It can be hard to find someone with whom to share your thoughts honestly. This is particularly true in times of difficulty or change. Everyone is happy to share your success but when you need support, it can be another story.

Working with a mentor is a great way to air ideas, chew over knotty issues and  to reset your compass. For most of us, work and personal issues are tightly interwoven. The conflicting demands of career and home, money and health, can make you feel rudderless. Perhaps you are in the doldrums and need some wind in your sails. Do you need to find a new sense of purpose?
