Through the round window

Welcome to the creative practice of Somerset-based artist, photographer, poet, writer, activist and leadership mentor, Nicky Saunter.

Corraling the glorious messy multitude of my interwoven and overlapping work and play demands focus. It can be paid and unpaid, spontaneous and evolved over time, inside and outside, learned and/or emergent.

Through the round window is a way of looking at the world, trying to see the whole of things in order to make good choices. Circularity is the way of nature – life, death, the breaking down into basic elements and the rebuilding of same into different. It seems wise to follow her lead.

Our view through the window changes continuously throughout our lives – and wisdom is often hard won. Humour serves us well, as does plenty of compassion for ourselves and others as we blunder along.
