Through the round window

Welcome to the creative practice of Somerset-based artist, photographer, poet, writer and activist, Nicky Saunter.

Corraling the glorious messy multitude of my interwoven and overlapping work and play demands focus. It can be paid and unpaid, spontaneous and evolved over time, inside and outside, learned and emergent.

Hence Through the round window as a way of looking at the world, trying to see the whole of things and to look around the edges. Celebrating circularity seems to be the way of nature – life, death, the breaking down into basic elements and the rebuilding of same into different.

Similarly our own view through the window changes continuously throughout our lives – and so do we. As my thoughts, feelings, ideas, memories weave their way into visual and written forms, they will appear here. All feedback is interesting.
